Realtime positions and some small tweaks


Although it might seems trivial, calculating your race position in real time in an efficient way was not an easy task to accomplish. Many approaches work well in Windows but make the game crawl in HTML. The good news is that after a couple of failed attempts I was able to come up with a method that works well in both versions of the game. Although it still needs some small refinement, results are  very good and I am pushing it in this new update.

The next update is probably going to take longer than usual, because I started working in two big ideas that need a lot of changes and tests, but the result should be worth the wait! I'll have news soon about this.

Update notes for version 0.1.20210315

  • Redesigned the end of the race menus (AI takes control of the player's car and a menu with different options is displayed)
  • Positions in track are now calculated in real time (before it was when crossing the start-finish line)
  • Improved player's name visibility when starting a race
  • Tweaked AI's race start reaction
